NYIT Nashaa is a dance club working to promote, preserve, and establish Indian culture through the art form of dance that was founded in January of 2021. Our goal, as a cultural dance club, is to unite the tremendous population of  South Asian and Indian students at NYIT Long Island. There are over 15 different dance forms in India, some of which include bharatanatyam, bollywood, and folk dance. Dance is a form of expression and entertainment that brings together and unites individuals. Moreover, it is a powerful source of teamwork, focus, and improvisation, all qualities that our society currently demands. Through the expression of Indian dance forms, students will not lose touch with their culture and heritage as many immigrant students are separated from their traditions and origins. Our mission is to instill a great love of dance, by inspiring self-confidence and respect for cultural art forms. Our goal is to provide each dancer the tools they need to reach above and beyond in the realm of dance.
