Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society, NYC

Phi Eta Sigma is the largest and oldest national honor society for first-year college students, founded at the University of Illinois on March 22, 1923. Our goal is to encourage and reward academic excellence among first-year college students. New York Tech houses one of the 375 chapters throughout the United States and more than 1,000,000 inducted members. On campuses with a chapter of Phi Eta Sigma, all first-year students are eligible to join who have a grade point average of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale at the close of any full-time curricular period during their first year. The New York Institute of Technology chapter believes in the following five pillars of success:
