Project Sunshine is a non-profit organization with chapters all in universities across the United States and the world. All undergraduate students are welcome to join! Through this club at NYIT, our goal is provide opportunities for pediatric patients to participate in educational, recreational, and social activities through free services. NYIT students will have the opportunity to play and create fun memories with hospitalized pediatric patients to alleviate some of the stress that they experience in the hospital while also encouraging them to cope with upcoming treatments. We intend to also help families and children who are facing various medical difficulties through in-person volunteering, raising awareness, sending sunshine activity kits, arts and crafts, telePlay, fundraising events, and more. This club will open opportunities for students who wish to dedicate their time to partake in activities catered to giving back to their community by bringing happiness and sunshine to hospitalized children. As a result, the physical, social, and emotional well-being of patients are improved and hospitals are transformed into joyful environments for both children and families.
